Who is Drinu?
So let's get one thing straight... my name isn't actually Drinu 😂 My real name is Andrea, but ever since I can remember, I've been called Drinu (dree-noo), and it kinda stuck with me my whole life 😅
I was born and raised on the sunny island of Malta 🇲🇹, home to the famous pastizzi, rabbit stews & bragioli to name a few... but as you can tell, I love food.
Food doesn't have to be fancy or expensive... you could literally have an incredible bite from a street food corner shop. I'm a believer that food is more than just taste. It can make you feel, reminisce or even change your mood. Every bite has its own story, and I want to share that passion with the world 🌍
My journey hasn't quite been quite the stereotypical route either. Instead of buying a home and settling down in my late 20's, I actually sold my car, quite my full-time job, and heading to Australia where I did what people call "soul searching". It's opened my eyes to so many opportunities in this world, and also gave me a sense of purpose to what I'm doing 🧘🏻♂️
To cut a long story short, Australia thought me 3 things:
Life is too short to care about what other people think.
Your passion and personality are your greatest assets.
Trust yourself enough to make the right decisions.
So here I am, following my passions and my love for food with the goal of sharing positivity and happiness, one bite at a time 🍴
The Positive Movement.
We gotta start from somewhere, and my goal (even though it seems impossible at the time of writing this) is to use food as a tool to inspire happiness and positivity.
Life can be so hard, especially today with so many things happening with constant changes, updates... it can get really exhausting... We worry about money, relationships, our purpose? I feel like I've had all 3 at this point 🙃
Sometimes... we need to slow down... be in the moment, savour every bite, and enjoy what we have. As Australia thought me... life is so short and precious. Might as well be happy and try to make this place a better one 💛
